Seeing if i can podcast

Ok so how is it that you all see the enclosure?Thing is the media encolsure does not show in the post unless you overtly hyperlink to it inside the post like this. But it does show in the feeds as an enclosure, hence me thinks it will show there as a podcast feed.

Seems like to get the enclosure you need to answer this question in the settings of your blog

There is a pod cast here .... hmmm well direct upload of a AVI didn't work ... see if i can try a hyperlink ... well of course that will work. Well how about a wma?

I'm looking forward to my one meal today of honeydew melon. If it's not enough, because i need to split one melon with Denise, then i have a cantaloupe and a watermelon in reserve.

A reliable breakfast and just one mid day meal a day, and no piecing allowed, is a formula that is working for both me and Denise. The thing that makes it work is the "looking forward" to the meal part. It seem that you use up a lot of nervous energy on planning, designing, preparing, cooking, and looking forward to the meal instead of spending that same energy on eating out of context. If this has worked for anybody else, please let me know.

Google Personalize Your Home Page Won't Take RDF ?

How come I can't subscribe to a del.icio.us feed on the "Create a Section" on my Personalized Home Page? Is it because it is RDF ? Is it because it doesn't end in "rss.xml" like they suggest ? Wow, good thing i chose to name my feeds with rss.xml.

Update: Must not be RDF or .xml, because this feed works, maybe something about del.icio.us or maybe its my fingers :(

Let me be the first to report that MSN Virtual Earth's satellite resolution, in the highest zoom, is substantially more detailed than Google Maps.

Fact is at del.icio.us anybody can tag anybody's page. Me thinks they should substitute technorati for del.icio.us to correct their gaffaw.

It is too bad that the average web user still does not know what this thingy called RSS is or what it does. But that is not my point here. The question is how do we get from where we are to where we want to be? What do we say about our particular RSS (or ATOM or whatever) feed on our own web pages, so that people will be encouraged to tune-in to the blogosphere, to start reading blogs, to start watching for new information? The *Subscribe section on the right of Steve Rubel's blog is about as good as it gets, but it's gotta get better than that. Now i'm not talking about some new centralized subscribing network ... no, i'm just looking for some clear, concise, even catchy wording together with some graphics and pointers that "we-all" (chuckel) could start using that would lead the unwashed masses into this new space as we project our own selves into the blogosphere by hyperlinking to our feeds.

... ideas, anybody ? .... who has the best way of pointing to their feeds ?

Incidentally, www.speaktomecatalog.com has a RSS 2.0 feed for each tag (for example cats) i just don't know how to say that on each page, such that my intended audience will use it.

... suggestions, anybody?

Google Groups : alt.internet.search-engines Strange, www.speaktomecatalog.com has a page rank of 5 and speaktomecatalog.com has a pagerank of 4. Certainly Google must know that they are the same page. Does this mean that if i could combine the references to these different URL's that my overall pagerank might increase? Should i encourage people to point to www.speaktomecatalog.com instead of speaktomecatalog.com ? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Strangely enough this was inspired by gapingvoid:the porous membrane ... it is a mulling topic that has been with for a long long time. Just got a idea of how to analize it almost mathematically while i was walking in the woods. No real time to explain it here, this is just to see how fast i can blog it ... perchance to come back later and explicate it.

From left to right: Lynn Bawden, photographer, Shallon Bawden an enthusiastic teacher ( here is another picture of her ,print is for sale from the gallery). There is quite a story about that picture and some day perhaps it will be told. Finally on the far right is Elaine, who "took the picture".

My Trip To Port Angeles

So in case your wondering what i have been up to ... well i went up to visit my sister near Port Angeles which is a scenic little town on the Strait of Juan de Fuca nestled under the Olympic Mountains in northern Washington State. We setup The Bawden Fine Art Blog for news about her art prints and the Lynn's photograph that is being shown in their Alpenglow photosite gallery currently being hosted by homestead, and opened a blog for Shallon who is graduating in June from Eastern Washington University. It was an exciting and productive ... with time flying away as we did show and tell into the night. She is going to help me redesign the Speak To Me Catalog site to unify the graphics and artistic presentation there. I saw an aspect of my sister's art that i hadn't seen before ... now she is getting into Surrealistic blending of photos that end up being really quite stunning ... shades of the footage ... hopefully she will be showing more of it publicly soon. I will be posting a humorous one over at can-you-hear-me.org sometime today or tomorrow. Lynn took a photograph of me under a rainbow which symbolizes how i feel about the trip. I got to show her the metaphor of the river of blogs flowing into folksonomy rooms and setup her Firefox browser with button names corresponding to the metaphor. Who knows maybe i will get her to illustrate the metaphor . Then just before i left we installed Skype ... :) ... now i can talk to my sister free.

Folksonomy works because it taps into the basic linguistic instinct of humans to make signs.
